- Pattern: Diagonale Scarf designed by me
Pattern
This is my very first pattern designed by me. More details to come!
Size
- Pre-blocking: 126cm(L) x 27cm(W)
- After-blocking: 139cm(L) x 31cm(W)
Yarn
Used total of 81g of yarn. I had no idea of the yardage so I measured it myself: I weighed 10 meters of yarn (3.2 g), then extrapolated from the total weight I used. The finished sample took 81 g of yarn, which works out to approx. 253 m / 277 yds. So for the pattern I list approx. 280 m / 305 yds, which leaves 10% room to spare.

Knitting journal
For the past two days I’ve been busy designing my first ever pattern. I’ve done modification a lot, but putting them into something like a final product takes more time and effort than I imagine. Lots of things to learn for sure.
- 4 days later
The knitting progresses pretty quickly. I’m already on row 100+ and it looks pretty good.
For the pattern writing itself, I decided to go with the chart only, otherwise that short written instruction version would be too much of calculation on readers end which is not my intent to make it an advanced beginner level scarf.

This is progressing so fast! I’m almost done and only have less than a quarter of the narrowing section to finish and it will get faster as stitches decrease. I only have 2g yarn left for this skein and not sure if I can finish the scarf without joining a new ball of yarn (hopefully no need).
Once it’s blocked I can start recruiting test knitters - I need to research on the process now!

Finished the sample!
