Hinagiku Hat

Winter is coming and I desperately need a new hat. My previous beret was a bit small already and it’s shrink quite a bit, I’m sure I can pull it back by blocking it in a large plate but I’m too lazy to do so. Also an eyelet beret is just not suitable for Canadian winter. Hence, Hinagiku hat will be my next hat project.

I initially wanted to buy new yarn for it (burnt orange), and when browsing the Ravelry projects page I suddenly realized I have a handspun yarn that I haven’t spun yet. This gorgeous sunset colour would be perfect for this hat! When I bought the drop spindle kit I was planning to use both white and the sunset to do colourwork. But to be honest, I hate beanie (since most of the colourwork hat are beanie) and a single colour hat suits my taste better. Time to do some spinning! Yay!

Field Sweater

I’m happy to find that the cone yarn I found in the thrift store totally works for my planned colour for Field Sweater! It is a coral-yellow colour, and even better, when blending it with a slightly deeper orange-brown, it produces the nice rosy-coral-nutmeg tone that I’m looking for, so I just need to buy few skeins of mohair and then I’ll have the perfect colour! I’m gonna to turn the sweater into a blouse like a Korean Raveler has done. So excited!
